Plan to build a continuum of solutions
The Kinston Promise Neighborhood Program is a comprehensive approach to educating children and strengthening families in the town of Kinston which is located in rural eastern North Carolina. This initiative is designed to create a web of support that will enable all children to succeed with variety of academic, family and community support that is essential to the healthy development of children.
The Kinston Promise Neighborhood program will create a continuum of services, that focus on the needs of children at every developmental stage with specific programs addressing early learning, elementary school, middle school, adolescents, and college. Others programs will include nurturing stable families, supporting youth development, improving health through fitness and nutrition, and cultivating engaged and involved adults and community stakeholders.
Our vision is that “All children growing up in the Kinston Promise Neighborhood have access to effective schools and strong systems of family and community support that will prepare them to attain an excellent education and successfully transition to college and career.”
The mission of the Kinston Promise Neighborhood is to develop a complete continuum of cradle-through-college-to-career solutions that are designed to improve academic and developmental outcomes for our youth.
