Sandra Bruton Fisher, MLK Program Emcee

Sandra is a Litigation Paralegal for the law firm of Riddle & Brantley, LLP with over 25 years of service to the legal community.
Additionally, she served on the advisory board for Office Technology Development for Lenoir Community College and is the creative consultant for One Voice Productions, where she teaches private voice lessons, interview, and poise and presence skills development. Her community service efforts have included support to the Lenoir County Education Foundation, Relay for Life, Lenoir County Schools, Salvation Army, Neuse Regional Library, Community Council for the Arts, Grainger Hill Preservation, Caswell Center, American Heart Association, Children’s Miracle Network, Lenoir County Crimestoppers and other agencies and services.
She has performed throughout the south and worked with various national recording artists, including Weekend Excursion and was honored to perform for the retirement ceremony of an Original Tuskegee Airman, Lt. Colonel Spann Watson.
Most recently, she was a featured vocalist for “Symphony of Hope” and “Salute! – They Served.” For 2 consecutive years, she was selected to perform at the Miss North Carolina Pageant, including the 2012 75th anniversary celebration.
For more than 35 years, she served numerous committees, earned awards in various local, state, and national pageants. As a consultant with Noire Productions, Inc., she is the State Director for Miss Black North Carolina & Talented Teen Pageant which is a preliminary to the Miss Black USA and Talented Teen National Pageant. North Carolina’s Talented Teen won consecutive national titles for 2011 and 2012.
She served as judges’ coordinator for the Eastern Carolina Scholarship Pageant Association and now serves with the Kinston-Lenoir County Pageant Association. Her name appears on the list of accredited judges for Miss North Carolina\Miss America preliminaries and has earned the distinction of Chief Judge.
She was honored as a 2011 and 2012 Martin Luther King, Jr. “Keeper of the Dream” award recipient for volunteerism and mentorship by the Young Women of Promise, Inc. and Project Promise Mentoring Alliance.
She studied Business Administration at Mount Olive College and vocal performance and theatre arts at Shaw University.
Most importantly, Sandra resides in Kinston, North Carolina with her husband, Samuel. She feels God favored her highly when she met him 29 years ago on January 28, 1984. They have five children and four grandchildren and are members of Oak Grove Christian Church, Greenville, NC where she serves as a Praise and Worship Leader.
